This Alaskan outfitter has some amazing sheep country. Clients fly into Anchorage and fly out again from Talkeetna to the field in Super Cubs. Most of the sheep are taken from a solid base camp. Hunters will be hunting out of game management unit 14a and 14b for their sheep. This outfitter only takes 4 to 5 hunters a year to allow for constant good shooter rams in his area. This remote area sees very little resident pressure because of it’s remoteness and this outfitting family has been hunting this area for over 30 years. This outfitter lives and has grown up on these mountains. It’s his home.
TROPHY QUALITY
Hunters should expect to be shooting rams in the 160’s and 37 to 38 inch sheep. This hunt is highly successful with over a 98% opportuntity rate and a success rate over 90%. There is a chance at rams over 170 but that is not common.
LODGING
This is a remote fly in hunts and you’ll be staying in 3 to 4 man Helliberg tents. Food will be the common back country, freeze dried meals and some “real food” snacks like ham and cheese and a granola bar. Hunters will be responsible to breing their own weapon, back pack and sleeping bag…we got all the rest.
HUNTING AREA DETAIL
This is very rugged terrain and hunters need to be in the best shape they can be.We are able to help hunters that aren’t in the best shape due to our varying terrain. We do not have the pressure of other areas so you don’t have to worry about the “combat hunting” that you’ll find in some areas of Alaska.
