Colorado Mule Deer Hunt
This Colorado Mule Deer hunt is centered around Craig, Colorado which is home to some big muley genetics and a very dense and stable population of deer. These hunts are very high success and deer average 160 to 180 with deer taken every year over 190. The outfitter has 10+ ranches that hold almost 200,000 acres of private ground, and much of it holds good deer.
The lodging is nice (3 separate lodges and camps) and clean and very nice but nothing super fancy. The food is stellar – you’ll leave heavier than you arrived. This crew is known for their work ethic and attention to detail in helping your group get their deer.

There are both archery mule deer hunts, and rifle muley hunts as well. The archery hunts are in early September and can be combo’d with elk. The rifle hunts run October 15th – early November for rut hunts. The later the hunt, the more the cost as it approaches rut.
This outfitter can handle parties of up to 6, and he will get everyone in your group a crack at a nice muley. Hunters don’t have to be super fit for this hunt as the ranches are well-roaded and many of them are on the edge of the agriculture in the valleys. But if you are fit and looking for an adventure he has ground that will test even the most fit hunters.
