Idaho Trophy Black Bear Hunt
This Idaho trophy black bear hunt is in remote, back country. The hunt is accessed via pack goats or horses and will be an experience you will not forget. The baits work for both rifle and bow and are set up to “sneak in”. Shots from a rifle can be around 100 yards or sneaking in with a bow to less than 30 yards. If you haven’t snuck in on a bear on the ground with your bow yet then you haven’t “done it all.” The experience will be burned in your brain forever.
Idaho Trophy Black Bear Hunt – What to Expect
The baits will be getting actively hit when you arrive and we only kill about one bear off each bait per year. These bears are excellent trophy quality because the bears average 5-7 feet. The other huge bonus on this black bear hunt is there are more bears in color phase than black bears. The last few years we have seen about 60% of the bears being colored and many of them are blond. Trophy Quality
Black bears on this hunt average around 6 feet and we often kill larger. Over 60% are color phase and the most common color we get is blond.
Dates
This Idaho trophy black bear hunt runs 5 days Monday through Friday. Hunt is held around the end of May to beginning of June. It includes lodging, meals, guiding, help with field prep on skinning the hide and skull. Airport pickup is included too. Max capacity on this hunt is a party of 4.
Food and Lodging
Lodging will be in a wall tent or a tipi that will be comfortable and nice. The conditions are usually warm and pleasant spring Idaho weather and the food will be awesome back country meals with mindfulness to detail that will surprise you. This is a leisure hunt for the most part with most of the hunting starting in the evening when the wind gets right and the possibility of a short morning hunt as well.
You must be able to walk on this hunt as we generally walk in and walk to the baits each night but the goats and horses do all of the lifting on packing gear and food in and out. This is the only pack goat bear hunt you will find anywhere and we also can put you on horses if you prefer and need that as well.
