The Hunt
At $6000 this elk hunt is one of the best priced high success, chance at a big one, elk hunts I have anywhere in the country. This Colorado elk hunt is going to be housed in wall tents that will give you access to the back country and high quality deer but because you are accessing it via a private ranch into the public you don’t have to pay the usual “price” of an ass kicking to go in and hunt this area. This hunt is going to be done during second and third rifle and is a guaranteed draw and the outfitter will help you get put in for it and make all that part easy. Elk on this hunt will average 5 x 5 and 6 x 6 with chances of elk over 300 and even up to 350.
The elk on this hunt are in the forest and you will be in elk every day and we post up hunters on movement areas to kill bulls. This is a hunt where you will be either covering country or posting up on a regular meadow to kill a bull. Hunters do need to be in decent shape for this hunt but you don’t need to be a marathon runner. We can use horses for you to overcome the elevation and there are elk both high and low and this is a large area. We will see a couple other public hunters on this hunt but they usually do us a favor by moving elk and hunting the area incorrectly.
The lay of this country is elevation range is 7000 – 9000 feet and can range from low grassy meadows with Oak Brush and goes up into quakeys and black timber and open country above timberline.

Trophy Quality
Bulls in this area will average 5 x 5’s and we kill a lot of 6 x 6’s. We are killing a bulls over 300 every year and the fun part about this hunt is there are a ton of elk and you will get your bull. The success is extremely high and if you can shoot and hike you will get it done.

Food and Lodging
Lodging will be in a wall tent or a tipi that will be comfortable and nice. The conditions are usually warm and pleasant spring Idaho weather and the food will be awesome back country meals with mindfulness to detail that will surprise you. This is a leisure hunt for the most part with most of the hunting starting in the evening when the wind gets right and the possibility of a short morning hunt as well.
You must be able to walk on this hunt as we generally walk in and walk to the baits each night but the goats and horses do all of the lifting on packing gear and food in and out. This is the only pack goat bear hunt you will find anywhere and we also can put you on horses if you prefer and need that as well.
