The Hunt
We hunt at the headwaters of a drainage that feeds the largest salmon fishery in the world. The big coastal bears are gorging themselves in the fall getting ready for hibernation.
The Hunting Area
We take advantage of setting camps near food sources. You will have a great opportunity at a high percentage success hunt. The key to this hunt and what makes it special is the numbers of bears and the resultant high success. Because of the high density of bears in this area, success rates are over 90% and the Bears average 8 1/2 feet.
Food and Lodging
Hunts are all done out of fly in camps. We use outfitter grade tents and cots. Food prep is a big priority for us every year. We cook enough home cooked meals to have half the meals of the hunt with vacuum packed premade meals like lasagna, meatloaf, soups, and barbecue chicken. We also don’t like anyone to go home hungry so there’s plenty of sweets and snacks to go around. We pride ourselves on the food our hunters eat compared to standard Alaska remote camps which will be predominantly dehydrated food.
