The Hunt
Embark on an unforgettable Utah wilderness archery elk hunt, where the adventure begins as you seek out impressive bulls in the heart of the backcountry. The average elk range from raghorns to bulls scoring up to 290, with the potential for trophy bulls exceeding 300. This guided hunt is designed to provide a thrilling challenge for archery enthusiasts, offering expert guidance with a 2-on-1 hunter-to-guide ratio. This hunt is also an over the counter tag. Whether you’re a seasoned hunter or new to backcountry hunting, this experience promises breathtaking scenery and the chance to harvest the elk of a lifetime. This hunt does require that hunters are prepared to hunt at 10,000 feet and able to do a decent amount of mileage a day. The terrain is actually quite mild in the high basins, so it’s not the climbing that is challenging, it’s the elevation, and you need to be ready.
The Area, Food, and Lodging
Your journey takes you 13 to 21 miles into the pristine wilderness of Utah, a remote backcountry location reached after a 5- to 8-hour mule ride. Camps are equipped with spacious wall tents, accommodating up to four hunters comfortably. These rugged camps are thoughtfully set up to provide a balance of rustic charm and essential amenities. Meals are hearty and satisfying, starting with simple breakfasts like donuts, oatmeal, and muffins to fuel your morning. Lunches include sandwiches, nuts, fruit cups, and candy bars for energy throughout the day. Dinners are a highlight, featuring ribeye steaks, burgers, Cafe Rio tacos, Dutch oven barbecue chicken, and more, ensuring you’re well-fed after a rewarding day in the field.

All hunts are 2 on 1 with 4 hunters and 2 guides in a camp.
