Dear fellow hunter…
Introducing, the Argentina Red Stag Hunt!
When you think of hunting big Red Stags in the Roar, the first country that usually comes to mind is New Zealand. Pictures are often passed around hunting circles of giant crowned out stags that often hit the 4-500” range. Looking like they came out of jurassic park, they get the heart ponding and the blood flowing. Red Stags are on many hunters bucket lists, similar to the North American Elk Species, their majestic antlers draw huge attention.
With all the changes in travel and country restrictions over the last few years since the pandemic, opportunities for hunting certain game species has also changed. New Zealand is one of those countries which locked down their borders and cut off travel when Covid hit. Since then, restricted travel to New Zealand was lifted but vaccination requirements were established. For those who chose to not get Vaccinated, there would be no opportunity to hunt their red stags or other animals of the north and south island.
Fortunately, there is another far less expensive option that has now become quite popular since New Zealand’s travel regulation. Known for the incredible migratory bird hunting, fresh water fly fishing, and pristine wilderness, Argentina is the perfect destination to turn a unique hunting adventure into a foreign vacation.
Founded in the turn of the 20th century by Pedro Lura, a French-Basque immigrant who started the first hunting preserve in the country, imported red deer and wild boar that now coexist with the native Fallow, Axis deer, Blackbuck, Antelope and Water Buffalo that make this land so abundant and rich with options to hunt and is one of the best hunting preserves in South America with more than 35 top 10 SCI entries.
