Trip Report: Mountain Goat in Alaska Hunt
In this trip report of Mountain Goat in Alaska Hunt, Raymond Thomas tells us his experience out in the Alaska wild and filling his tag. Check out his trip report he submitted to Top End Adventures! Congrats Raymond!
Our trip was easy to book. We had done a super Idaho Mule Deer hunt that Marc Warnke booked for us. He did great job on that trip. So, for Mountain Goat, we went back to Marc and he was great. Booking was easy, no hitches. Our hunt was just as Marc told us to expect.
Logistics and Lodging
Everything went great. Our Outfitter met us at the airport, drove us to cabin to get hunting gear together and leave any items that we wouldn’t need on the hunt. The weather was good and in Alaska, you just have to take advantage of that. So our outfitter flew us ( my son and me) to our hunting camp. After our hunt, outfitter flew us back to base cabin to clean up, get gear straight and a good night’s sleep. He made sure we were at airport in plenty of time for our flights home. He also carried capes to taxidermist for us.
Trip Report: Mountain Goat in Alaska Hunt Trip Details
Our guide was just great by all measures. First day, we spotted about 20 goats. I drew first stalk which was very challenging and successful. This was a big deal for me. I am 74 years old and cannot run ridges as I once could. Our guide was patient and helpful in every way. And so a great adventure for me. It rained and snowed every day of our hunt. Days 2 and 3 we’re snowed out. Day 4 was a challenge! But five Billy’s were spotted and a treacherous but successful stalk was planned for my son. Other excitement was black Bear in camp raiding the meat pole. Saw a black bear each day of our hunt.
Your Experience
Our experience was just great. I recommend Top End Adventures and Marc Warnke without reservation.
We at Top End Adventures are happy Raymond filled his Mountain Goat tag and such a positive adventure with the outfitter and our service. Our Alaska Mountain Goat Hunt is with a top-notch outfitter! Thank you for the trip report Raymond!
