The Hunt
Located in the famed Chugach Mountain range of southeastern Alaska. This is a true adventure hunt. With a licensed and experienced guide, you will backpack from the river up to above timberline to where the sheep are for 10 days. There you will camp and glass for rams. With the ability to hike as far as needed to find the ram you came for. Physical fitness is key for this hunt. The ability to add Brown Bear, Black Bear, Wolf, and Wolverine is there with an added trophy fee.
The Chugach is famous for its heavy horned rams with character, length, and amazing genetics. Any sheep hunter will tell you that the Chugach is special. Average shot distance will be 120-350 yards.
Average horn length is 37-38.5”.
This is a Backpack hunt. Your camp will be what you can comfortably carry. With that in mind you must be cognizant of being able to carry your gear and a ram off the mountain as well. If assistance is needed, a packer can be arranged by the outfitter if notified well before the hunt date.
