The Hunt
This is a fly in hunt located near Cordova, east of the Copper River, along the Gulf of Alaska. This is a limited guiding use area. Accessed via Bush Plane into the goat area. You and your guide will backpack up with 6-7 days’ worth of food and gear to where the goats are. From there your hunt starts. The ability to combo Brown Bear, Black Bear, Wolverine, and Wolf is an option also.
The Area, Food & Lodging
Generally for breakfast, it’s oatmeal or freeze dried eggs or freeze dried breakfast meal.
For lunch it’s usually cheese and sausage and all the hunters get a snack bag for the day that’s already pre-packed.
Depending on the hunt, mostly the river hunts for bears, we’re able to bring fresher and heavier food because the boat is doing all the work. And we don’t have to load it into a plane.
For dinner is usually a freeze dried meal with tortillas.
And if you’re doing sheep, Moose, or a mountain goat, we usually cook fresh meat with the meal with cheese and tortillas.
We try to make sure that any of the hunters give notice of allergies or anything like that before the hunt. Some of the free dried meals have peanuts in them.
