The Hunt
This is an amazing fall spot and stock hunt grizzle hunt. We do also do spring trips as well. Bears in this area are true inland grizzles with dark legs and classic “silver tips.” You’ll be hunting bears on berries, or on fall streams getting after fish. It’s not unusual to look over many bears on your hunt and this style of hunting them in early September is amazing. There is great black bear hunting in the area as well and you can add those on for $2000 and can shoot up to three. Shooter griz in this area will go 7.5 to 8.5 feet in this rolling tundra country.
Trophy Quality
Average shooters in this area are 7.5 to 8.5. Skulls are big and capes are nice and dark with a classic “grizzle look.”
Dates
Early September is when we like to hunt these bears as they are the most predictable and congregated around food sources (mostly berries).
Food and Lodging
You’ll stay in nice back country 6 – 8 man tents that will keep you comfy on your cot and nice and dry.
There may also be chances at some fun fishing depending on your camp location.
