This is one of the top hunts I put my clients on in the world…it’s that good.  This will be a true wilderness adventure that you will never forget.  You’ll be hunting deer that have never seen human beings and be so remote it’s likely the deer will be drinking from the same spring you are.  The deer in this area are plentiful you will see LOTS.  Many clients will see 200-500 deer during their hunt. Wolves and cougars are additional species you can hunt when you are here at no additional cost.

TROPHY QUALITY

You should see plenty of nice mature deer.  It does vary from year to year based on horn growth and migration but on the tough years deer will average in the low 160’s and on good years deer will average in the low 170’s.  Generally deer are shot every year 180 and even 190+ but the reason to go on this hunt is for the back country adventure…not the giant deer.

This is a wall tent, with cots and wood burning stove camp.  You’ll have an eating tent and a sleeping tent and the outfitter has great stock that is very seasoned at carrying new people to horseback.

You will be hunting in the Frank Church Wilderness which is one of the most remote places you can be in the lower 48.  You will be hunting the rutting and wintering staging areas and the country is steep and rugged.  Luckily you will be camping and hunting on the upper portions so the need for being super fit is not really necessary.  You’ll be day hunting mostly on foot but  both sometimes on horseback  as well.  The guys who kill the biggest deer on this hunt use their binos, not their legs.  You will be looking over a lot of deer and camped among them.
