Securing a guaranteed mule deer tag out west can be difficult if you want to hunt in a solid area.  Colorado is one of the best states to book a guided mule deer hunt with a guaranteed mule deer tag.  Most outfitters are leasing the ground you will be hunting on.  Outfitters negotiate for the landowner tags which allows them to guarantee a tag for you.  These outfitters will often hunt on the adjacent public land as well.  Pressure will often be low because it’s landlocked by private ground.

Colorado guaranteed mule deer tags can vary from $1500 to $5000+ depending on the season they are good for and the unit area. This cost is just for the tag, not access or guiding.   Some of these tags are fairly easy to get because the land is privately owned.  Without pubic access, these lands can hold some great deer.  That is the sweet spot and I have several outfitters who can constantly kill 160-190 mule deer.  These outfitters are still affordable in their fully guided hunts including lodging, meals and transportation during the guided mule deer hunt.  Even though the guaranteed mule deer tag comes with the hunt, you will still have to pay the non resident fees for the state tag and license.

So if you want a guaranteed mule deer tag and go on a fully guided mule deer hunt, expect to pay from about $5500 – $8500 for the first through third rifle.  Fourth rifle mule deer tags usually go with a fully guided mule deer hunt for around $10,000.  Phew….I know, not cheap, but that is the going price today.
