Donald JR gets his Colorado Bull Elk!
Trip Report: Colorado Elk Hunt Booking Process
Trip Report: Colorado Elk Hunt booking experience was seamless. We were in constant communication with our booking agent Mark, and then the Ranch Owner. They were always glad to answer our many questions as this was our first elk hunt and did not know what to expect.
The first night we were greeted by the owner, his family who turned out to also be our guides. One of the first things the owner, Dan said was,” If you can’t make yourself at home here, then you should go home”. They made us feel part of the family.
Trip Report: Colorado Elk Hunt Trip Details
We saw elk the first day, they were farther than we felt ethically shooting. The second day, we were guided by the Owners Daughter, “Two-Does” and her husband, “Strider”. We spotted elk at just over 900 yards and carefully made our way up to 500 yards. My nephew shot first and downed a nice 4X4. Then another legal 3X4 stepped out and I was able to down that one. So we both had our first bull elks the second morning. But it did not end there, they field dressed them for us, hauled them out and then even drove us to town and we were able to get a European Mount and processed the meat all ready the next day.
Trip Report: Colorado Elk Hunt – Your Experience
We heard of so many Outfitter reviews that said they are only out for the money. Let me tell you this one is NOT. They had claimed a very high success rate, and they delivered. The other party that was hunting also scored a nice 4X5 that same morning. If you are looking for a great adventure that is not too physically demanding, this is it. We not only booked ourselves for next season, we are taking two additional hunters with us and two other guests. This is a dry camp, they say a prayer before each meal, so if you are looking for a drunk vulgar hunt, this one is not for you. They are just great people…
