This hunt is on one of many ranches located in the Ogden Canyon area about an hour out of Salt Lake City. This outfitter controls over 500,000 acres in total. These ranches have a LOT of elk and have great access.  Due to the sheer number of elk, the success is very high on 5 x 5 and 6 x 6 bulls (over 95%).

The great news on this hunt is the outfitter gets CWMU tags and the hunts can be during the rut with a rifle!! Guaranteed Tags for Rifle Rut elk hunts almost don’t even exist anymore. While tags are guaranteed, the cost is not included.

The guiding staff and accommodations are second to none.  These ranches have a lot of animals, so you’ll be seeing a lot of deer as well which you can combo on while you are there. This is an expensive hunt with one of the best outfitters I work with in the world and you will not believe the quality of every part of this operation.

These bulls will be 5 x 5 and 6 x 6. Bulls over 300 are shot every year but, not common.  This is a 2020 bull!

The terrain on this hunt is everything from alfalfa fields to steep, high mountains covered with quakes and pines.  Most of the hunting here will range from 6000-9000 feet in elevation but the ranches are well roaded and most hunters don’t need a high level of fitness to be successful.  That said for the fit hunter you will have many more options as some of the ranches can be quite challenging.

Dates run from September through October. September are when the bulls are in rut.

You can expect very nice meals cooked by a chef.  They are 4 star quality meals. The lodging is also 4 star quality. You will be stay in beautiful lodges. This place is truly spectacular.
