Why I think Elk Hunting is the Coolest Hunt in the World

I have been bow hunting the world now for almost 30 years.  As the owner of Top End Adventures I often get asked what is my favorite hunt in the world and the answer is so easy.  Elk hunting during the rut takes the cake.  I’m still not totally positive why, but I think the vocalizations and being able to “talk to an animal” is what really gets me.  But, that certainly isn’t the only reason.  I love to be fit and chasing bulls in the places they live is always physically challenging and I love that part as well.  Let’s not forget to mention they are one of the top three animals I have eaten in the world second only to moose and Eland.  Lastly, they carry such huge and amazing headgear.  It’s just so cool to lay your hands on all that bone.

Another factor that makes Elk amazing to hunt is the wide spread country they exist in today in N America.  They now freely range from Texas to N. In conclusion, elk hunting in the rut is simply something everyone should try.  The meat is amazing and the fun of the hunting experience is second to none.  If you have never elk hunted, the fastest and best way to success is to pay for a guided elk hunt in a state with guaranteed elk tags that makes sure you can plan and know you are going.
