
Elk Meat Benefits – Reasons to Eat Elk Meat
These elk meat benefits give us good reasons to eat elk meat! Elk meat is rich in vitamins and minerals like iron, thiamine, B-12, zinc, riboflavin, phosphorus, niacin and much more. These vitamins and minerals help to boost the immune system and reduce the risk of heart disease. Elk meat is the leanest meat available, low in fat and cholesterol which improves general health.
Strong Bones and Immune System
Elk meat is high in phosphorus and zinc and phosphorus is found in 85 percent of our bones and teeth. Did you know how important Zinc is for us? Zinc helps us build immune cells and reduce inflammation. Zinc is also known to help fight the common cold.
B-12 and iron are beneficial in fighting anemia. Anemia is caused by lack of red blood cells and will cause symptoms such as fatigue, dizziness and a fast heartbeat. B-12 is known to be a big influencer in brain health because it helps with memory and learning.

Elk Recipe:
Tender Elk Finger Steaks
- Cooking oil
- 2 beaten eggs
- 1- inch strips of backstraps
- Flavored breadcrumbs of your choice
- Flour
- Seasonings such as Salt, pepper, garlic
Mix breadcrumbs, flour and seasonings in a bowl. Dip finger steaks in egg and roll in breadcrumb mixture and then drop finger steaks into hot oil and turn after a minute for medium rare. You can cook longer if you want them well done. Enjoy!
