Lastly, it’s strange in our hunting culture that we have now use jealousy of others ability to hire guides and buy tags to justify our denouncement of this activity as something “unworthy of a good hunter.” The nay-sayers love to act like this is cheating somehow. Well, I would like to say if you are a hunter that feels this way and speaks your mind, I would ask that you celebrate all forms of legal hunting as we are a very small number of the population as hunters and we need to have one another’s back as our right to hunt is under constant threat as it is. We certainly don’t need to be calling one another out publicly in front of non hunters making them somehow think we engage in any form of unethical harvest. They are already disillusioned to know what elk hunting and for that matter, hiring and elk hunting guide is even about. Please be aware of what you say publicly as the opposition is always watching and being swayed to support us or not.
